Member of the Week
Congratulations to our Member of the Week, the Women’s Opportunity Center! Over the past 40+ years, the Women’s Opportunity Center has empowered disadvantaged individuals by providing employment skills training, individualized coaching, financial literacy, computer literacy, health and wellness coaching, and professional dressing. They have helped more than 8,000 women and men in Tompkins and Onondaga counties overcome obstacles and achieve success through employment and training services.
Through their on-the-job training program, women with limited work experience gain the skills necessary to find employment. Participants learn administrative experience at the Women’s Opportunity Center and retail experience at the Mary Durham Boutique. The Boutique is a nonprofit, gently used women’s clothing shop run by the Women’s Opportunity Center. Listen to the interview here.
