Myer Farm Distillers
Myer Farm Distillers is committed to producing the finest quality spirits, “From field to flask”. They are committed to using organic materials and operating under a sustainable and organic model of production. It is through this affinity with the environment that they are committed to environmentally sustainable practices and being a model and leader for craft distillers and other small businesses.
Myer Farm Distillers started their business entity in 2010, broke ground for the facility in 2011, and started production in June of 2012. The tasting room opened for business in October of 2012. The Myer family has farmed in the Town of Ovid since before 1810 and Myer Farm has been operating in its current location (on which the distillery is located) since 1868.
Myer Farm Distillers is one of the very few estate distilleries in the country and one of the few who use organic ingredients and have a commitment to sustainability. They use International Certification Services certified organic grain from Myer Farm (established in 1868) for all of their spirits and whenever possible source local, fare-trade, and organic fruits and botanicals for their gin and flavored vodkas and whiskeys. The distillery currently offers 17 unique spirits, 12 of which typically are offered in both 375mL and 750mL bottles.
Visitors to the distillery can see the fields from which the grain is grown and harvested and used to produce the spirits they taste and enjoy in the tasting room.
As a result of their strong showing at the American Distilling Institute’s (ADI’s) 10th Annual Judging of American Craft Spirits in California they have been invited and will participate in representing the best of this country’s craft distilling industry at ADI’s Gold Medal Room featured at the International Tales of the Cocktail Festival in New Orleans on July 23rd. (Of several hundred awards given, they were one of the top 5 distilleries distinguished for the number of awards won. They received four medals in total: three bronze medals for three of their two-year-old single barrel John Myer whiskeys and a silver medal for their Cayuga Gold Barrel-aged Gin.)
Myer Farm Distillers is grateful for the strong environmental and business community of Tompkins County and the Finger Lakes Region.
